The Solar Warrior Trilogy: Prologue to “A New Hope”

Within the context of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy this third book entitled “A New Hope” emerges by providing a series of contents that constitute the authentic acid test for whoever ambitions to incarnate again the archetype of the Solar Warrior in the specific conditions of the 21st century. “Specific conditions”: this is the fundamental premise of this whole third volume. While in the case of “Origins, Rise and Decline” as in “The Eclipse”, the mythical, legendary and strictly historical aspects of the ephemeral apparition of the Solar Warrior are more emphasized within the human domain, in this third book: “A New Hope” has been chosen to get grounded in our specific age, the 21st century. And yet, the fact of intending to “become grounded” isn´t such an easy task in our times, even for he who aims to vigorously follow the heroic path…
This is so because in general in industrial and technologically advanced societies the forms of knowledge we drag in our psyche and the links or experiences we establish with the actual world are more and more confined in separate domains. Hence, on one hand we deeply cherish a huge amount of cultural, political and scientific notions that were quite efficacious for specific social layers of the West during the 19th and 20th centuries, but that now however are completely inapplicable within the specific conditions of the 21st century. Thus, whenever we face the challenging task of defining these “specific conditions” we lack an adequate criteria or viewpoint; a criteria adapted to our times. There are those who might consider that the scientific method can be used in these cases, and in effect we believe that such approach constitutes a foundational requirement, yet even when the scientific method is rigorously applied it is always important to maintain high doses of prudence since -as already explained more in detail in “The Eclipse”- such methods can serve forms of knowledge that the observer might be in many cases perfectly unaware of.
This caution has impeded me in this second book from approaching the “specific conditions” of our times by means of a strictly scientific knowledge, since as already shown in “The Eclipse”, the fact of approaching the physical domain of our times by exhausting the possibilities that offer the ensemble formed by the scientific-reductionist paradigms, the non-linear physics paradigms and the cybernetic paradigms carried us to a point where inevitably the spirit of the observer fuses with the spirit of whatever is observed. Ultimately one can only observe in the world what one is with regard to one´s multiple expressions, and therefore the great question ultimately becomes: Who is here the observer?…
It is precisely at this point that myth has assisted us to get off the hook. Even though in this third book of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy the approaches regarding myth and legend that are much more present in the volume “Origins, Rise and Decline” are put aside, actually the guiding golden thread of all the development and all the specific viewpoints embraced regarding the conditions of our times has been ultimately accomplished in this third book “from an eagle´s view”, this is, by fusing with Solar principles.
This has been the decided standpoint. And it should already seem at a first glance the most appropriate, since we definitely live in times where the available distances have increased in an inverse proportion to the available amounts of available time. And by embracing warrior-like notions and worldviews that have been lost in the mist of times, and which to a large extent defined a way of experiencing the world rather than a mere way of just thinking about it, with regard to the approach to our times we´ve been assisted in recovering the value of action, as an expression of a praxis, or a mode of operating upon the physical domain that follows very specific aims, even though these aims are not necessarily known by the individual who exerts such actions due to the existence of the aforementioned gap between the rusty concepts we drag and the comprehension of the symbolic aspects of our actions.
And within the domain of the specific and effective actions upon the material plane, it has been shown in the second book of the trilogy “The Eclipse” how in our urban/industrial societies the nature of human actions upon the world -or the specific praxis- are of a technical/cybernetic/functional kind. In the realm of organization, States and individual relations, these forms of action precisely allow the individual in the 21st century to become integrated within society and participate. Obviously there exists a chaos of many other actions exerted by individuals in our times, yet there exists however a progressive monopoly of the technical/cybernetic/functional; actions, and when facing the intrinsic power of these action forms, whatever the individual believes or thinks has less and less relevance, since such beliefs or thoughts cannot direct such actions in any way.
What entity actually exerts this monopoly? The Techno-System, which we´ve already described and defined in depth in the second book “The Eclipse”. To put it briefly, the Techno-System corresponds to an entity or SuperState of a planetary order that monopolizes the actions of organizations, States and individuals towards a very specific direction. In addition, the global economic subsystem has also submitted to the determinisms of the Techno-System, and ultimately the only praxis that allows an organization, an individual or a State to nowadays gain an economic profit in the case of productive operations is if the cybernetic/functional component of their decisions and implementations are promoted and centralized. And yet these advantages go hand in hand with a series of important consequences at a human level, which progressively create a number of dependencies and attachments between men and the functional mechanisms of their environment that imply the modification of the psycho-somatic configurations of the individual, which almost always remain confined to the subconscious domain, with there not existing nowadays in practical terms teachings or methods that can allow the homo-technologicus to be aware of such forces.
When encountering this latter situation, to even consider the existence of human liberty is quite illusory, since the patterns and automatisms introduced within the deep recesses of the psyche by the functional configurations of the technological environment substantially modify the direction of the individual's actions, with the individual ulitimately lacking the capacity to govern such impulses. And yet in no case does this situation have to be dramatic, since on the other hand, the mechanistic and functional environment integrated within the Techno-System provides the individual with a whole series of virtual compensations -that is to say, compensations that don´t have any effect on his capacity to make actual decisions- where however the individual “builds” or “creates” the purely artificial illusion of the freedom of choice. The lack of freedom in addition to the lack of existential traumas is what can facilitate in our times the relatively new condition of happy and self-satisfied slave.
This illusion granted by the Techno-System to the individual who is well integrated within it corresponds to an illusion that has became manifest in our days in two main branches: the illusion with regard to the individual use of technique, and the illusion that modern politics, science and public opinion can direct in advance both the direction of technological and industrial development.  The illuison of the use of modern technique is explained in detail in “A New Hope” as the false idea that men can determine a “good” or “bad” goal for a given technological device. It is shown in this third book of “The Solar Warrior” how in the case of modern devices of a systemic essence, any moral “superstructure” is totally incompatible with the intrinsic development potentials of the technological infrastructure itself. This is so to a large extent because the modern technical object has became cybernetic and systemic, and such transformation necessarily implies that the analysis of any “individual use” necessarily becomes radically different. Hence, in our times it is very naïve to separate the devices or gadgets from the global-scale industrial and technological infrastructure that made them possible. This industrial and systemic infrastructure has been defined in “A New Hope” as the container of the Techno-System, where can be found all impersonal determinisms and laws that direct it autonomously. Within this container or matrix of the Techno-System are integrated the contents where the individual enjoys the freedom of choosing from a wide variety of uses and consumptions, even though none of these uses or consumptions can modify an iota the container, in a similar way as to how the colour of the body of a car corresponds to an individual decision that doesn´t alter the technical characteristics of the car´s motor. In other words: thousands of cars painted with the most diverse spectrum of colors all go practically at the same average speed when circulating through the urban environment…
Therefore, an individual might use a car in order to take his kids to school or runover and kill, yet none of these marginal individual decisions can modify an iota the overall direction of technological and industrial development of the whole automotive sector, which follows autonomous and impersonal determinisms that even transcend the economic domain. This doesn´t mean that men are necessarily subjected to a system that beats them down and subjugates them at its own will; actually even though the development of the Techno-System is autonomous as an unbridled giant, this doesn´t entail that men, by following the heroic path, are impeded from situating themselves in a position of absolute freedom when challenging the different levels of technical phenomena integrated in the Techno-System. So this is why, following here Marshall McLuhan´s thesis “the medium is the message”, in our days true human freedom consists of actions that freely elect the existent means integrated within the container of the Techno-System, leaving in the background the supposed value of the contents, which are ultimately highly virtual with regard to their influence both in men´s consciousness and in the configuration of the external world. Hence, by putting forth here a simple and introductory example of the latter, true human liberty actually consists in dominating the desire of turning the T.V. set or smartphone on or off, and not in the pseudo-form of freedom that consists of choosing among a wide variety of 200 T.V channels or web-sites, after having been in direct contact with the contents of such channels or web-sites.
All these ideas might sound pretty radical to the reader, and in this third book of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy it is also assumed that the reader must practice the virtue of patience in order to progressively perceive this worldview within his/her direct experience. Of course, one of the other conditions required in order to attain this worldview demands on the part of the aspirant to Solar Warrior purging the illusion of modern politics.
“Political illusion” is an expression taken from the French philosopher Jacques Ellul in the book of his which has the same title. If one intends to extrapolate towards the level of national governments the powerlessness of the individual when it comes to determining the direction of technological development, there emerges the logical question regarding if modern political representatives and governors can become capable of leading or directing such process. In order to answer this question we must determine which are the finalities that the political classes propose and which are the means that are available in order to make possible in practical terms such goals. By rigorously restricting our analysis to the conditions existent within the modern urban/industrial societies, we´ll see how the successful modern politician is he/she who proposes to the citizens goals that refer to economic growth and the well-being of the electors and citizens. These two latter goals are only possible to satisfy by means of an adequate and optimal management of the economic means of production, which are of a technical and technological nature. And in this case, the individuals who are capable in practice of favouring and optimising the development of such means are not the politicians, but the ensemble formed by the engineers, the scientists, the technicians, and the technocrats. What´s then the role of politicians in all of this? Both politicians and the contents of public opinion (celebrities, famous sports players, artists, etc) essentially serve as to fortify the conscious and unconscious attachment of the individual and voter to specific ideologies (happiness, work, progress…) which are necessary in order to mobilize the resources that allow the incessant development of the Techno-System to become possible. In other words, the political domain, by having constituted an aim in the West before the 20th century, after the constitution of the Techno-System during the last century became a means, a content of a spectacular nature that has no influence in the container of the Techno-System.
Again, the latter thesis might seem quite radical to the reader, and yet in this third book it has became tested in the “laboratory” of the world in the case of a very specific and crucial phenomena… Let´s see…

Review of "A New Hope" by Living Traditions Magazine

From an exclusively technocratic viewpoint, the Techno-System constitutes the most advanced form of a technological and industrial civilization, and as any other civilization, it is also prone to inevitable processes of development and decline. In the case of the Techno-System, its necessary yet not sufficient conditions of existence are the following:

a) a mass technological society composed of individuals who act based on the ideologies of happiness (comfort), work, science, and material progress, and
b) Easy availability of material and energetic resources

In the case of the Techno-System we can reliably verify that factor a is still thriving, but that in the case of the condition b we are already experiencing important problems. In general, as long as there is an easy availability of material and energetic resources almost any technical problem can have a technical solution. But if factor b fails, then technological development starts to inevitably decelerate, and the role of the technicians starts to become more and more inoperative.
The development speed of the Techno-System is highly dependant on a specific ratio, the global EROEI (Energy return on energy investment), which expresses the amount of net energy obtained by the system in the global processes of energy production. This EROEI has been declining since already some time ago, and this plunge is irreversible, since the Techno-System is unable to recycle the dissipation caused in the finite resources it depends on. This shall necessarily produce during the following years a decline, followed by an abrupt collapse of the Techno-System. So… Houston, we´ve got a problem… Are today´s politicians actually reacting in the face of this real and in no case virtual issue?
Absolutely not, and ultimately they are just “following the script”, since the function of modern politicians is that of feeding the desires of the integrated masses within technological societies. By contributing to the latter there appeared in relatively recent times the ideology of “sustainability”. And we use the term “ideology”, since after having being during its origins a term that implied a stable and harmonic link between men and the environment, it has ended up becoming a mere justification for the development and implementation of systemic/cybernetic technologies such as the smart grids and the production of energy from renewable resources by employing wind-turbine and photovoltaic technology, etc. In the case of smart grids the criteria of its implementation is that of enhancing efficiencies and the distribution of energy for society, which are already experiencing in productive terms diminishing production returns. Up to this point everything seems reasonable, and even having common sense… And however the comprehension of the Techo-System´s laws allows us to see in this volume “A New Hope” how these measures reinforce even more the internal imperatives of the Techno-System, which in an aggregate form always demands constant growth of the energetic depletion of the planet. And this phenomena which takes place in the entire domain of the “eco-efficient” technologies can also be applied perfectly well to the domain of PV solar, wind-turbines, and more recently the “fracking” process taking place in the U.S. The latter in no case means that the future of the production of energy in a sustainable way won´t be by resorting to renewable sources, but that if such production is effectively accomplished in the future in a truly sustainable way, it will have to be free from the Techno-System´s imperatives.
Absolutely none of these technologies is capable, even considering the hypothesis that they could be applied at a global level, of compensating for the decline of the global EROEI, which actually corresponds to the true “oxygenation” of the Techno-System and everything that depends on it; an “oxygen” that is much more crucial than the availability of strictly financial resources such as money. At the end of the day, the so-called “global-debt” corresponds to a debt between the incessant development demands on the part of the Techno-System, and the capacity of human societies and the planet to keep up with such demands.
These demands shall never be able to be fully satisfied because of strictly energetic limitations, and eventually the “rules shall be broken”, or better expressed, the house of cards of the Techno-System shall abruptly fall apart in historical terms. The irreversible steep inclination of this decline is linked to the high levels of integration of the Techno-System in all its aspects, which concedes its considerable fragility and incapacity for self-regulation whenever the energetic demands are not satisfied. This foreseeable phenomena can entail scenarios of the most diverse that the reader is free to speculate about of course, but that however in “A New Hope” have been intended to become outlined with regard to their most destructive and constructive existential aspects for the individual who ambitions to become a Solar Warrior.
Probably one of the most negative phenomena that shall emerge during the process of global collapse shall be that which in “A New Hope” is defined as the tyrannical rebellion of the masses. By resorting to several authors who have mastered the concept of “mass-men”, in this third book of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy it is pointed out that the Techno-System demands of the individual the adoption of passive, obedient or “stimulus-response” attitudes in order to gain a more enhanced cybernetic integration, but that once the ideological superstructure and the material infrastructure of the Techno-System inevitably collapses, passive kind of attitudes will no longer be useful and the individual shall ultimately be forced to face himself. In situations such as the latter can emerge in the conscious mind the repressed inner tension or drives: hatred, affections or disaffections that demand their booty in the world, giving place to subversive, corrupt, destructive, anarchic attitudes at all levels. If there exists a kind of individual predisposed to adopting such behaviours it shall be the plebes or the scum, which in our times in no way are no longer related to the economic or social-status conditions of existence of the individual.
In such situations characterized by civilization chaos it shall be very important for the Solar Warrior to acknowledge which are the characteristics of both the plebes, scum and those of the mass-individuals, since both respectively represent twilight incarnations of the SuperDragon and the Techno-System; they represent conservative forces, retrograde standpoints coming from the darkness, which the Solar Warrior must not only defeat exteriorly but overall within himself.
It is thus at this stage where the poison can be synthesised into a medicine, and this is of course the aim exposed in the second part of “A New Hope”

In the second part of “A New Hope” a necessary return to values that some might call “archaic” is accomplished, even though actually in this third book of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy such values are conceived rather as eternal, not of course in a romanticist or idealist way, but in the sense that no culture nor creative link established among men and their new conditions of existence have ever occurred without such principles, which are thereafter incarnated in the case of princes, royalty and nobility.
Nevertheless, this majestic incarnation is not but a “final product”, a “finished product” such as that of a Sword that has to first go through high fusing temperatures in order to become finally forged. And it is precisely the Solar Warrior he who aspires to such forging, even though in the long term the necessary condition that shall guarantee the final accomplishment of the goals by going through pain, sufferings and the hellish fires of such experiences shall be the noble condition. Thus, in this second part the concept of “noble” has been recovered with regard to its most primordial meanings and thus has been divested of all connotation referring to natural born privileges and titles of nobility that nowadays are not but mere empty shells, since at the end of the day nobility can only be put to the test in the case of combat and battle, and not precisely in “glamorous” parties full of paparazzis of the cuore (sensationalist journalists). Besides, the noble man who aspires to be a Solar Warrior has no concern about the mawkishness of this form of cuore lifestyle since he has, deep down, a noble heart, an honest, loyal and authentic heart that he constantly exposes to combat and fighting in an inversely proportional way as he becomes exposed to cocktails, well-being lifestyles and all other forms of make-up.
In no way does the truly noble man want to live well. He wants to fight. This is why in this second part of the “A New Hope” is exposed a radical and revolutionary treatise on the Noble Warrior, as the foundational condition to attain a regal and Solar condition, that of the Solar Warrior, that today -as in all times- shall at the end constitute the light and beacon of the eternal kingdom of the Solar Empire.

Appendix on marriage

At the end of this third book is incorporated a treatise or appendix about marriage that has been considered important. At first I was not sure if it was editorially better to append it to this third book of the trilogy or to the other two, but finally we chose to incorporate here, since this third book is more related to the “here and now” that the aspirant to Solar Warrior has to face in his task.
A treatise regarding marriage was written, since the candidate to Solar Warrior must also be very aware of how crucial for his fight is the establishment of very specific links with the opposite sex. Thus, taking into account that the Noble Warrior of the 21st century has as a main enemy the Techno-System, and by acknowledging that this power -which is still rather invisible for most of our contemporaries- became ubiquitous, chances are that the option of modern marriage is not recommendale for the aspirant to Solar Warrior while forging his fight, and while “burning” all means in the bonfire and flames of his solar aspiration.
Why not recommendable? Because marriage, today as always, corresponds to a State institution, legitimated by a given structure of power, where both man and woman (or in homosexual forms which don´t necessarily correspond to modern forms of marriage, but rather existed in other times) get together in order to share a form of understanding life. This latter agreement is the determining factor for the success of a marriage, and is also a factor that surpasses the economic, sexual, affective and social domains. And in the same way that in the Middle-Ages marriages were legitimated in the West by the form of State existent at that time --the Church -- today marriages are sanctioned by the Techno-System, not in a clear visible way, but rather by interpretation of the elements that surround the marriage ceremonies of our days.

Can the Noble Warrior participate in this fidelity oath with a worldview that he is actually fighting against? In no way. Such act would ultimately constitute the proof of his inner abdication and wrong calling. And yet the Noble Warrior can freely establish relations with women, this is, unconditional links where both the Noble Warrior as his female counterpart can serve the same idea, that of the Solar Empire, an idea that nowadays is not materialized anywhere, but that can only be cherished by the heart. And in this sense, both the Noble Warrior and his girlfriend can share the deepest recesses of their hearts, experiencing very likely the most liberated and elevated forms of human love.

The Solar Warrior Trilogy: Prologue to The Eclipse

The title of this work, “The Eclipse” integrated within “The Solar Warrior” is essentially inspired by the cosmic fact that in the domain of civilizations, cultures and nature, whenever the powers of light disappear, precisely the darkest and unknown forces start to direct life forms, yet not necessarily the destiny of such life forms.
It was precisely the dismantling of the Order of the Knights Templar by the King of France, Philippe IV The Fair during the 14th century that would entail an act that would leave the West in a progressive penumbra. This “penumbra”, shadow or darkness began to first appear at the pinnacle level of the States and that of the Monarchies and Royal families of the time, by corrupting the nobility and integrity of the aristocracies, and thus little by little the penumbra spread thereafter its shadow upon the emerging masses, with the epicentre of such decisive phenomena being the Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris, in the year 1314, when the last Master of the Templar Order, Jacques de Molay, was sacrificed in the bonfire due to false accusations of heresy.
This fact, as described in “Origins, Rise and Decline”, implied a crucial tipping point in the West, thus constituting what would entail for some scholars the actual end of the Middle-Ages, and the beginning of modern times. This event also propitiated the progressive emergence of the SuperDragon within the human domain -described in more detail in the previous book of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy-. Consequently men in the West became viscerally exposed to such entity, only being thus capable of apparently “exorcising” its menace by means of reductionist science, ideologies and secular or monotheistic religions.
There can easily arise amidst this state of things the question concerning the institutions or human groups that could effectively take control of the new emerging situation. And it is here that another key fact takes place in the modern history of the West with the constitution of Speculative Masonry in London in 1717, that is, a group of eminent men in the most diverse fields who temporarily managed to overcome the crisis of mean-ing induced by the lack of Solar principles at a State level by hypertrophying means, abstract ideas -the ideas of the Enlightenment- which all implicitly assume a materialistic interpretation of existence applied absolutely to all things. Thus, science, economics and politics began little by little to surrender to the cult of brute matter, that is, to a cult towards the most passive and inert forms of matter that are no longer linked to any directing principle of a metaphysic, supernatural and Solar order. It is a this point when the imperialism of the masses begins.
These aggressive and rationalistic ideas diffused by Speculative Masonry -a modern political group called in “The Eclipse” as “The Masters of the Dark Temple”- were thereafter propagated at all social layers of the West, ideas still inevitably very present in our times. And however, one of the teachings that Speculative Masonry discarded from the most diverse and ancient structures of the Masons (the Rosicrucian, Francmasons and Gothic Cathedral builders of the late Middle-Ages…) was the danger of suggestion that propaganda could entail whenever the individual who is subjected to such propaganda has not yet received an adequate formation. It is precisely this dangerous incursion into the subjective and subconscious mind that later stimulates even more the alienation of the individual and the progressive gap between the specific actions of this individual, and what such individual says, thinks or understands in regard to such actions.
It is precisely the noble warrior castes who naturally comprehend that “actions speak louder than words”, yet in the 18th century of the West this worldview was in practical terms already extinct, favouring contrarily an exacerbated worship of reason, abstract concepts, ideologies and idealisms, with all of the latter being also immersed in a romanticist and economic vision of existence that progressively uncoupled from the effective realm of action, and that of the meanings of such action. Even though Speculative Masonry was neither aware of what they were accomplishing nor their authentic goals, deep down the diffusion and propaganda of the enlightenment ideas became very effective when catalysing the propagation of the SuperDragon at all levels, first in the sense of promoting the distribution of its blood: oil -called in the Middle-Ages as “acqua infernales” (the water from hell) and secondly in the sense of allowing modern men progressively to become more exposed to the extreme mobilization of action, actions which to a great extent were passive and where men, not aware of the cause or “unmoved mover” that directed their actions, could only ultimately also suffer in a passive way.
In all of this, both capitalism and communism proliferated during the 19th and 20th century as two ideologies that only differ with regard to the means they employ, but that however stretch their hands with regard to the aims. And what are actually these aims? The constitution of an opulent society where superproduction and the constant satisfaction of needs and desires atrophy in men the possibility of questioning the direction and necessary combat for the direction, which as we formerly said, can only be granted by Solar principles politically legitimised in the Solar Empire. But the Solar Empire idea had already been cursed by the Church since the 15th century, and then when later emerged ideologies such as capitalism or communism, there no longer existed anywhere one single trace of the Solar Empire idea. And yet, this didn´t mean that finalities were absent, but that actually the men of the West, blinded by false, abstract and ideological visions of existence, were simply unable to perceive any direction. And in essence the sense of human actions in the 19th century was going in a very specific direction: the progressive constitution of the Technocratic planetary State: the Techno-System.

Review of The Eclipse by Living Traditions Magazine

It is in this second part of “The Eclipse” where there emerges the challenge of observing with new eyes the configuration of power that intensively appeared in the 20th century called the Techno-System, which constitutes -especially in our days- the entity that ultimately directs the destiny of the entire humanity.
As a preliminary phase when shedding light upon the superstructure and infrastructure of such power, as a previous requirement it is indispensable to have an ideological purging of the individual who faces such task. To some extent, one could say that at this point we are situated already in the equatorial line of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy and that up to this point there has been described to a large extent the fight of the monotheistic religious vision of existence (the Christian “God”, for instance in the case of the West) in addition to the diverse modern ideologies, in contraposition to the ancient and mysterious sacred ideal of the Solar Empire. Up to this stage of the trilogy are described the main genealogies of modern ideologies and illusions, which all correspond to a great extent to the ideology of happiness, the ideology of work, the ideology of science, and the ideology of politics. To many readers I presume it might be very shocking to read that modern happiness corresponds essentially to an ideology, yet in this book is described in detail how happiness, work and science, whenever they demand of the individual material conditions that foment passivity and the “letting go” of such individual, they have to necessarily become ideological. True happiness, contrarily, corresponds to a purely active form of happiness and to a positive state of being of the individual who is willing to fight for his own destiny, and this kind of happy activity can´t correspond to work, conceived exclusively in economic or productive terms; this happy activity is executed unconditionally, and has no attachment to pain, pleasure, nor the consequences or rewards coming from such activity… To put it briefly, true happiness is not a aim, but rather a condition of existence. Yet whenever the individual expects a reward coming from his work, or a satisfaction of his necessities and desires, this becomes the unequivocal sign that points to the future need of work to eventually demand an ideology for its own justification. This difference between the hedonist/well-being/comfort happiness of ideological tinges and active happiness, is equivalent to the difference that exists between modern reductionist science and the sacred sciences that still existed in the Middle-Ages and the Gothic worldview. And even though the following shall also sound very outrageous to many ears, also modern science is highly ideological, since its intrinsic idea of objectivity independent of the subject being studied, inevitably eliminates the truly active standpoint of the individual who aims to know, who has no other option than become passive with regard to the objects of knowledge and the construction of science. Thus, as a working hypothesis actively chosen in this second part of the book “The Eclipse”, it has been decided to discard the interference of any political vision of existence, even though it shall be precisely in the third book of the trilogy, “A New Hope” where the issue regarding the illusion and virtuality of modern politics shall be deepened, by demonstrating its complete powerlessness when trying to challenge the laws and developments of the Techno-System itself, thus demonstrating the adequacy of employing this working hypothesis in this second book of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy. This shall serve to point out that the methods of modern science have no value on their own, unless one rigorously asks what they aim for and which context they adapt to.
Hence, in the second part of “The Eclipse” the description of the Techno-System shall begin, by resorting exclusively to modern scientific paradigms. This part of the trilogy might correspond to the most difficult sections for many readers, since the text shall deepen into concepts of classical physics, thermodynamics, systems physics, etc. Yet nevertheless, despite its unavoidable difficulty, the text of this second book consists of the exposition of a radical materialistic view of existence that has been purposefully chosen in order to take to the thresholds and to the reduction to the absurd the idea itself of “solid” material, without having to resort in any case to paradigms such as those of quantum mechanics.
It is in this equator of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy where the phenomena of star formation and that of the Sun are first capture by means of mechanistic paradigms, then ultimately deducing the incapacity of such paradigms in “touching” the typical neguentropic phenomena that takes place in the sun and life itself. It is at this specific point where the reader might perceive between the lines how the Solar power outbursts from the text itself of “The Eclipse”, aiming to become expressed in new forms, thus facilitate in some men the possibility of, again in the 20th century, defeating the mythical Titans and the igneous forces of the SuperDragon by eminently Solar principles.
Yet before describing these very few men of heroic virtues who emerged as shooting stars in the firmament of the 20th century, it shall be first convenient to ascend from the purest metallic rigidity of the Techno-System foundations towards the technical and technological domain, thus introducing the reader into a new and revolutionary concept: technicity. The concept of technicity brings forth from ancient times the techné concept, and contrasts its light nature to the darkness of the functional and cybernetic forms of technique that began to proliferate in the 20th century, which ultimately determined the structure of the most diverse sciences and technologies. It is described as well the genesis of the internal combustion engine as a fact of great meaning when demonstrating that within the technological and industrial domain there can also take place autonomous processes that imitate those of life, and with regard to which the Solar Warrior can establish a link that recovers again the relation that already existed seven centuries before between the Knight Templar and his Sword. These possibilities emerged as very isolated cases during the 20th century, but as all shooting stars, they left behind a trail of light that is indefinitely propagated… These men, heroic paradigms of these new possibilities amidst modern societies, were the New Zealander Burt Munro, the northamerican Chuck Yeager and the German Ernst Jünger. The two first having lived fantastic experiences that were portrayed in the cinema, and the third still awaiting a filming genius director to project his life onto the big screen.
However, these men couldn't be seen as shooting stars within the progressive darkness of the West, a darkness that rather became more illuminated by the spotlights of the spectacle world and that of entertainment. Actually in “The Eclipse” is described in depth how around the years 1940-1950 the Techno-System became physically cybernetic within the departments of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T) in the U.S. promoting again the counterattack of functional technique at the expense of technicity, and consequently leaving men in the foreground when relating to the progressive autonomy of a system that deeply extirpated their most intimate responsibility. This necessarily impelled the counterattack of ideologies and the emergence of the most diverse human compensations, with hyper-consumerism, show-business and drugs becoming the most used forms during the decade of the 40s and 50s, just after the cybernetic constitution of the Techno-System, converted the enormous mass of men in the West and the East to a happy and servile slavery, tinged with political pastimes and broadcasted sports.

And nevertheless, the light of the Solar Empire was still not completely defeated, in a way similar to which a total eclipse always leaves tiny apertures that announce that such darkness can´t last for ever… Thus, at the end of “The Eclipse” there emerges again from the most remote depths and mists of times a new form of conceiving combat and war, an imperial, noble and warrior-like form of conceiving the human conflict at all levels. It shall be ultimately the chaturanga, the primordial game of chess, that shall defeat the cybernetic brain of the Techno-System, not when facing it on the chessboard, but rather in the vital breath of the eternal.

The Solar Warrior: Prologue to “Origins, Rise & Decline”

Introduction

In the context of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy, this first book “Origins, Rise and Decline” appears as an endeavour that allows us to deepen our knowledge with regard to the historical roots of the Solar Warrior figure, which itself corresponds to an always mysterious entity that is expressed in diverse ways depending of the historical and political particularities of a given age and time. The name “Solar Warrior” corresponds to a term by which I have attempted to better describe such force, which fuses the attribute and virtues of the warrior, in addition to the fact that such warlike fight and combat is directed towards a sacred cause, and this cause is always perfectly expressed symbolically in the form of the Sun.
The symbol of the Sun has been recovered because -as explained in more detail in the second book of the collection “The Eclipse”- the birth of a star necessarily implies a series of phenomena that are referred to as neguentropic, which briefly means that the laws of thermodynamics are employed by a directing cosmic force that favours processes of synthesis and resonance that embrace very wide domains. This force or “vital breath” not only appears in the processes of life and creativity, but is also expressed in the phenomena of civilization and culture formation, where the attributes and heroic virtues of men become the necessary means that implement such genesis.
With regard to the process of cultural or civilization forging we´ll never encounter a definitive answer that can wholly respond to the following question: Why are civilizations and cultures formed? And whoever provides an explanation to such question shall always necessarily end up projecting his/her more intimate values within the answer, such as in the case -just to mention one example- of Karl Marx, who by being a paradigmatic son of his times had to necessarily consider that the needs of production and economic activity were the determining forces of such processes. And yet, the forging process of a culture or civilization shall always remain a mystery, even though we can beassured that if there is something that defines all mysteries of life it is essentially its neguentropic character, where the Sun and stars constitute the most magnificent examples.
The latter necessarily implies that the “Solar Warrior”, this is, the synthetic force or “attractor” that “pulls” specific men or groups of men towards the accomplishment of a quest or mission against the determinisms and anarchic forces of a given time and place shall always remain as an inevitable mystery. And however, this doesn't´mean that because such mystery transcends the human rational categorizations that the individual -today as always- has to become powerless when scrutinizing by himself the deep meaning of the mystery. And as an eternal assistance in this task myth, legend and saga always come --in no case consisting of fantastic, childish or arbitrary stories of supposedly “primitive” cultures of hunters-gatherers that were not “evolved” or literate. Rather myth, legend and saga correspond to the language of destinies; that is, they allow the individual whose life resonates with such forging and emerging civilization/culture processes to intimately comprehend his own specific task and place within such process in the case such neguentropic process takes place once again, allowing him to perceive the menaces that necessarily stalk him through such process, and allowing him to perceive through such quest the signs or symbols he has to learn to recognize. This implies that the essential and existential contents of myth cannot be gained by only resorting to academic instruction or purely intellectual formation, since ultimately, it is the actual life of the individual that allows the deciphering of myth.  So if we attempt to deeply understand the direction and meaning of our concepts, myth shall become the symbolic construction that shall always serve us as an adequate orientation in such deciphering… Hence, if we aim toward acknowledge, for instance, which is the finality of modern reductionist science or techno-science regarding its cosmic development, it shall be precisely myth, by resonating with our own lives and experiences, that shall provide us the key to the mystery.
Thus, returning to the origins does not necessarily imply returning to the past, but rather returning to myth. According to the aforementioned, any Celtic legend or myth shall always be much more clarifying regarding the ethics and custom of the Celts than any academic or rational speculation based in empiric archaeological remains. This doesn´t mean of course, that such empiricism must be discarded, but that what´s first is first, and the issue of finalities must always prevail when reordering whatever are the means or empiric proof. And precisely in myth can be found embedded the issue of the aims, which is characterized by a “plasticity” and intrinsic irrationality which converts it into a set of contents that can´t have the same meaning for all individuals, due to the simple reason that the particular lives of individuals are never exactly the same.
Thus myth and legend correspond to the golden thread that allows adequate integration of the contents expressed in the whole of the book “Origins, Rise and Decline”. On the other hand, in the case of the exertion of heroic virtue, one can eventually end up arriving at the pinnacle of myth and legend in its strict Solar Imperial character. And at this point it shall be necessary to clarify in the first place that the term imperial employed in this context has practically nothing to do with “imperialisms” nor nothing to do with those connotations that are referred to in order to express a political totalitarian construction. Actually we are referring here to the imperial attribute as an idea, as a force or entelechy -in the Aristotelian sense- capable of causing the centripetal convergence of all human relativity towards a supreme centre or axis. This is why, in this first book of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy it was firmly decided to recover the term Solar Empire in order to symbolically refer to such idea, and to distinguish it from any other versions or conceptions regarding the word empire.  The Solar Empire corresponds to a civilizing force that hasn´t left any mark -or we rather are afraid to say none- within official history and documents. In fact, all civilizations are prone to leave behind countless productions in the most diverse domains (economy, art, politics, etc…) and yet the glowing genesis of the Solar Empires is not described anywhere neither in a descriptive nor methodical way, yet it is mysteriously embedded in legend, myth and saga. This is what occurred for instance with the emerging in the origins of the Sacred Roman Empire, the Ancient Empire of Egypt and the Kingdom of Israel.
In truth, way before the start of the predomination in the West of the Abrahamic religions (Christianism, Judaism and Islam) where the individual tends to surrender to a rigid form of morality that obeys the imperatives of a monotheistic god in order to believe in the possibility of a salvation in the afterlife, there existed nonetheless a conception that was diametrically in opposition with regard to the concept of the divine, where the individual in no way is subjected to a god, but rather participates in the divine power through a quest for freedom, and this freedom was linked to an imperial and solar power. According to this idea, men could eventually incarnate the power of divinity and serve as a bridge between the configuring power of the Solar Empire and the realm of men, as in the case of the Solar Kings and Emperors. This idea of the freedom and power of the man who has attained the divine form of power and that is one with it has always been in correspondence to the symbol of the eagle, a regal bird that, such as the case of the Solar Empire, flies with sovereignty and freedom throughout history, while behaving as well very elusively and with distance with regard to the purely human domain, only approaching such domain whenever very seldom the heroic and noble warrior virtues emerge.
This is why, by founding upon these principles, it shall be the Solar Empire that shall determine the direction of all the contents of this book in particular and those of all the other content of the trilogy in general. In addition, the idea of Solar Empire as a form of State shall also allow us to properly frame the metaphysical concept of Being, which is absolutely vital in order to allow the adequate convergence of all partial domains of experience and human knowledge. In truth, one can´t dissociate the symbol of the Sun and that of the eagle in relation to that of the Sun Empire and Being. Ultimately, Being corresponds to a latent force that exists in all forms of life; a force that predisposes a direction to the heroic virtues and self-sacrifices of the human ego, and which becomes necessarily in alignment with true freedom and the macroscopic constitution of the Solar Empire. In all of this, mythological and academic content, in addition to techniques, sciences, religions and multiple specializations are all particularizations or means of expression of such force in specific conditions.
Therefore, the Solar Empire constitutes the one and only finality of men upon earth. Constitutional monarchies, republics, multinationals, imperialists and technocracies all represent posterior degradations of this idea, where man, by serving such degraded forms of State, don´t thrive towards self-dominion, sovereignty and freedom, but rather towards individualist and egotistic degradation. As an eventual intensifier of such degradation of the light of the Solar Empire idea, all forms of monotheistic religions and all ideologies necessarily emerge, which grant the individual an explanation that allows the acceptance of his conditions of life, no longer as a sovereign and free individual, but rather as an individual integrated within a mass or collective where all individuals follow the same aim, an aim that is no longer an actual and homeostatic aim, but rather an artificial and fantastic construction. This degrading separation with regard to the real world at the expense of a quite arbitrary and artificial world is called dualism, that is, a nefarious predisposition that first corrupted the Ancient Kingdom of Israel and that later spread to the entirety of the West as a virus that became accepted as something natural.
Nevertheless, the dualist infection that began to corrode all memory regarding the Solar Empire hadn´t yet completely infected Europe during the times such “virus”, in historical terms, was causing considerable havoc in Israel during the first millennia before Christ. And the latter survival took place because Europe during those times remained essentially as pagan. This term -pagan- is conceived in “Origins, Rise and Decline” in a way that doesn´t resort to the common opposition between paganism and Christianity, nor does it imply a sort of superstitious and emotive valuing of the natural environments, nor in this book is it linked to the sectarian neopagan organizations that practice -still today- “druidic” rites and things of the sort. In this book paganism is rather conceived in a very simple way as a vital opposition and character trait that is opposed to all forms of rigid dualism; this doesn´t entail that paganism doesn´t accept the existence of a supernatural or metaphysical domain, or even the potential of the Solar Empire, but that it is rather naturally predisposed to gain an experience of the material and biological domains as the first foundation for further quests towards the authentic transcendent domains.
Thus, paganism, conceived in the latter way, implies the foundational ethics from which can eventually arise the Solar Warrior and the likely culmination of the Sun Empire by means of the constant exertion of the heroic virtue. And after almost two millennia of degradation and corruption of the Solar Empire idea due to the dualist “virus”, very suddenly there emerged during the Middle-Ages (from the 10th to the 15th century) a revolution in Europe where once again the flourishing of the Solar Empire in the West became an actual possibility, mainly due to the intrinsic paganism existent within Europe during such times.
However, what was written in the previous paragraph can indeed severely shock many readers, since in history classes and T.V documentaries we were taught that Europe during those times was under the Church´s power, and from this perspective it is then logically stated that Europe was then a Christian continent… And yet it is precisely myth that comes to us here and aids our intuition and sensitivity, by communicating to us meanings almost opposed to those that can be reached by logical deduction, since myth perfectly integrates logic, and yet can´t be dominated by logic itself.
This is what occurs in the case of the Grail legend, and all those legends and sagas that, one way or another, and in their purest versions, in diverse and particularized ways express the challenges and aims of the heroic virtue that aspires to the “triggering” of the Solar Empire in historical given conditions. When this mission corresponds to the ultimate aim of such heroic virtue, then we can assure that precisely the Solar Warriors are the individuals who incarnate very rarely such missions within human societies. In the case of the Middle-Ages, the Solar Warrior became incarnated in the Knights Templar, the Knights of Malta, and many other warrior Orders linked to the feudal structure that even reached to the Middle-East, such as the warrior Order of the Nizaris. The Crusades affirmed exteriorly by rigid Christian dualism in a very aggressive and combatant way along wide territorial domains of Europe, yet in the core itself of the Templar Order elite and at a level of the State the ultimate aims began to come into conflict with the specific form of State existent in those times in the West, which was represented by the Church of Rome and the papacy. Deep down -and as shown in depth in this first book of “The Solar Warrior”- a given ethics and noble warrior attitude succeeded in catalysing within some eminent members of the Templar elite the Solar heroic virtue, which in historical terms had been absent for more than two millennia. This heroic Solar virtue, due to its own metaphysical and transcendent power, inevitably caused a powerful menace against the French monarchy, the Church and its representatives, who finally decided to dismantle the attempt of Solar restoration on the part of the Templar Order by means of incarcerating and sacrificing its more eminent representatives in the bonfire.
This sacrificial act, having its highest apogee in the case of the death of the Great Master of the Templar Order, Jacques de Molay, facing Notre-Dame cathedral in 1314, not only changed the history of the West forever, but due to the fact that it took place at the pinnacle of the State, such event managed to decisively modify the ultimate goals men came to serve from that moment on, first favouring individualism by means of the emergence of the merchant classes, and later by decoupling men from the cosmic forces, which remained free however to allow history to keep on going, advancing and progressing.
From that moment on the idea of the Solar Empire became a cursed and heretic idea that became intensively persecuted through the Inquisition when incarnated in its last representatives. Therefore, the Solar idea remained once again eclipsed in all domains, and men in the West remain alone and orphaned when trying to forge by themselves their own progress and destiny. It was precisely amidst this state of affairs that eventually emerged modern science and rationalism, which very seductively insinuated to men that all metaphysical, sacred and Solar principles were not but pure superstition.
Thus, already unable to observe the sacred light, the men of the West could no longer either shed light upon darkness. And yet this darkness began to become manifested in all its power through the SuperDragon; an irrational configuration of deep energies that has always been present in myth and legend, and that is essentially characterized by stimulating the existential fears of men, forcing him to withstand the fear of death and the requirements of any Solar mission and combat with all kind of surrogates and compensations. These compensations progressively constituted the secular religions that derived from Christianity and Protestantism (Puritanism, Calvinism, etc), modern science, ideologies (capitalism, communism, comfort or happiness, work, etc) which later on all fused together until our days, becoming all expressed in a rather veiled yet powerful way in the religion of hyperconsumption and spectacles. And as one could expect, any of the attributes of the legendary and old Solar Warrior -or as Joseph Campbell would pen “the hero of thousand faces” -would also become a product of consumption and entertainment.

Origins, Rise & Decline. A review by Living Traditions

In this first book of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy are thus described in the most synthetic and brief way as possible the emergence of the dark and irrational forces in the psychological layers of the West, causing important disruptions of a subversive and criminal character, just as were for instance the events that took place in the bloody consequences of the French Revolution. And it was at this historical point that by lacking any sacred principles that could direct and illuminate human destinies, since the 18th and 19th century, there would eventually emerge a new form of State that would progressively surpass the State-nation and that would little by little aim to centralize and coordinate human actions in the predatory and depleting direction that characterizes the subversive power of the SuperDragon. This supra-national power configuration would little by little constitute the Techno-System, which since the 19th century began to virtualize all morals, politics, art and human culture by propitiating in its place a cult of performance, development and efficiency. In the books “The Eclipse”, and “A New Hope” of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy shall be delved into more deeply the character of this new Technocratic state and its laws, pointing out the constant link existent between the SuperDragon and the Techno-System.

The Solar Warrior Trilogy: Objectives

The principles that have motivated the creation of “The Solar Warrior” are both evolutionary and revolutionary.
They are evolutionary principles, since at every moment existed the assumption or premise that there is no evolutionary potential for humanity in itself, but only to the extent that humanity -or more specifically men- manage to establish firm connections with the new realities that are external to the mere human domain, succeeding thus in creating a harmonic symbiosis between both realms. Consequently a potential new bridging with the cosmos necessarily demands a rigorous and adequate knowledge of the cosmos itself, yet in no case is this knowledge of the cosmos independent of the Being or subject who acknowledges it, so when facing the endeavour of establishing such connection in the existent conditions of the 21st century, it is indispensable to comply with both the following pre-requisites:

a) an integral knowledge of the cosmos
b) the recovery of an integral knowledge about the nature of men.

And it is in this regard that “The Solar Warrior” necessarily complements the evolutionary ambition with the revolutionary one, by recovering therefore the original meaning of “revolution” from the Latin re-volvere which signifies “to go back to the origins”, not obviously in a historic sense, but rather in a meta-historic sense, this is, in the sense of recovering a worldview and a set of principles that, independent of time and space, allow men to harmonically link to the specific conditions of this time and such place.
Precisely due to the latter standpoint, the commercialisation of “The Solar Warrior” in today´s publishing companies is practically a mission condemned to fail, since in this trilogy is left aside any humanist, liberal, conservative, ideological, ideal, evolutionist, economic, romantic and spiritualist conception of men, which are all promoted one way or another within the publishing arena of our times and that of the mass-media, ultimately causing the feeding and fortification of humanity´s alienation with regard to a relatively new set of conditions of existence. These new conditions of existence are the modern urban/industrial/technological and cybernetic domains, which as a whole follow a set of laws that are absolutely independent of any humanist, liberal, conservative, technological, ideal, evolutionist, romantic or spiritualist valuing.
Obviously at first the latter statement shall sound very radical to most ears, in the same way it would have been very radical to the first-class Titanic passengers to hear that none of their romantic, economic, liberal, conservative, political or class-related ideas could do anything against the titanic power that was tragically directing their lives; a power they didn´t manage to see due to their liberal and bourgeois conceptions of human freedom. But now whoever wants to listen to the message shall at last listen to the message in all its purity and power, and by means of learning about a revolutionary conception of human freedom, individuals shall not only be free from the determining forces of the 21st century, but what´s more important, shall end up dominating such forces to their own advantage.
It is also important to advise the reader that the message of “The Solar Warrior” in no case intends to promote the ego´s self-satisfaction of the reader, nor promote that which in recent times has been called positive thinking… This trilogy is not intended for entertainment, nor is it intended to be liked, “cool”, or “interesting”… In truth, it essentially consists of a formative work, aimed for those vigorous and noble spirits that intend to reach the maximum they can reach in life on their own, thus allowing them leave a true mark in the world that can trespass millennia, with absolute responsibility. Yet this responsibility is necessarily coupled to a discipline, and more particularly, to a self-discipline… In the same way that maths constitute one of the most hated teachings yet one of the most useful in our practical life, this trilogy is also characterized by the same character of maths, and thus it can hardly constitute an adequate intellectual satisfaction for those lazy or comfortable individuals who easily let themselves be impelled by the chaotic waves of circumstance or diversion, thus ambitioning a happy life free from any unbearable tensions.
So this goes in correspondence to the fact of the warrior title of the trilogy; yet eminently warrior, thus recovering from the “warrior” concept its noblest, majestic and honourable virtues, which have all been one way or another completely degraded in our times due to the technical barbarism of modern war, and to a less extent due to the diffusion of specific film and literary contents. But from the more authentic and traditional viewpoint regarding war, such as that which had been perfectly incarnated by the Knights Templar in the West and the Samurai in the East, a key matter that emerges is the definition of the nature of today´s conflict and the nature of the enemy.
In truth, during the last two centuries the concept of “enemy” has also become very abruptly degraded in parallel to the concept of “war”, since in the same way there is widespread idea in the cultural domain of our times that war is motivated by economic or class-related interests, such conception has inevitably caused the concept of enemy itself to become reduced to that of merely economic or class-related motivations… However, this view highly impoverishes a greater one conceived for instance by the Knights Templar, more than seven centuries ago, who conceived war as a necessary and indispensable conflict among diverse forms of power, aiming to favour processes of synthesis or destruction that are consubstantial to any human civilization. These powers are always configured by the States and the Empires, as formative entities and historical forces that determine culture, religions, economic processes and social organizations… And in all of this, war appears as the necessary conflict between different worldviews in order to modify the configuration of States and thus allow men who are integrated within such States to encounter new aims and means whenever the conditions of life change.
The latter implies in practical terms that whenever change, evolution or synthesis exists, war and conflict necessarily have to exist… And yet… How can this key idea be applied to today's conditions of life? If in the case of the industrial and civilized world of the modern megalopolis we are living times of peace… Does this actually mean that we are not living times of change, evolution, and synthesis?
As a matter of fact, in the former assumption we are relying on a wrong premise: that of considering that in the case of our developed world we are living times of peace. It would be much more accurate to say that in the case of our developed societies we are mostly living in times of comfort and well-being, yet in practical terms it is not feasible to attain in the developed societies such conditions of comfort and material well-being without a massive and unsustainable exploitation on a planetary basis of energetic, material and human resources, in addition to the necessary uprooting of native and traditional communities and cultures, all of which inevitably causes processes of neurosis and many other modern pathologies. The fact that this destructive process can be momentarily compensated with surrogates of comfort, entertainment and consumption in no way implies that the latent destructive process itself is eliminated, similarly to how an antidepressant or painkiller never attacks the root of a psychological conflict.
So ultimately we are living times of deep war, even though by superficially observing the level of subjacent conflict that is revealed amidst our societies, it does not necessarily consist of a conflict that is expressed in the abrupt loss of human lives -such as it takes place in the case of the most barbaric aspects of modern war- as in the fact of the suspicious need existent in our developed societies of avoiding conflict by means of all forms of evasions, diversions and surrogates.
Therefore, by already being suspicious at this point with regard to the almost undeniable existence of a latent conflict within the developed societies of our times… What is actually the nature of such conflict?… Facing this question we´ll have to resort once again to a worldview lost in the mists of time where it is implicitly assumed that war is always embedded with a spiritual or anti-spiritual character. And again, it is very likely that the latter statement might frontally crash against any spiritualist premise which assumes that whatever is “spiritual” has to be synonymous of pacifism, harmony, mysticism, beatitude, and to a less extent, has to be linked to the most diverse “New Age” currents that have appeared during the last decades, mostly within the developed countries. Yet this crash in no case consists of a crash against the value of what is spiritual, but actually supposes a crash against a reductionist view of what is spiritual, an interpretation that doses a comforting view of spirituality that tends implicitly to demand conditions of material well-being as the required infrastructure for such spiritualist and pacifist superstructure… And no matter if the proponents of such spiriritualism shall ever admit it or not, such modern material infrastructure in no way has been materialized by pacific means, since the mega-industry that makes it possible is destructive by nature.
Once this nuance is pointed out, in “The Solar Warrior” there is provided a specific vision about the conflict of our times, avoiding naturally any ideological standpoints that can avoid challenging the conflict itself. It is considered that as occurs in all conflict, there are forces meant to defeat and promote synthesis, when at the same time these forces are always in opposition to forces that are meant to lose and promote fragmentation. And it is assumed that the deep knowledge of one of these forces allow the acknowledgement of the other, and vice versa… Thus in “The Solar Warrior” trilogy there exists a constant contrast between the heroic virtue, and all those social, political, ethical and technological conditions that tend to burden the intrinsic brilliance of such virtue. Therefore, at first, the Solar Warrior can be likely conceived as an individual who has managed to allow the heroic virtue to prevail against the usurpation of the disaggregating forces that exist in a given age, yet this victory is not even thinkable if on one hand the principles of heroic virtues are not recovered and, on the other, the correct acknowledgment of the disaggregating and destructive forces of a given age is not made.
Nevertheless, for didactic reasons it has been attempted in this trilogy to avoid describing in a strictly separated way both the heroic virtue and the disaggregating forces, but rather what was intended was to create a progressive transition between both domains, a bridge capable of facilitating for the reader and aspirant to “The Solar Warrior” the knowledge with regard to the direct repercussions of this conflict upon the domain of ideologies, history, science, politics, ethics and the material infrastructure of our societies. Due to the latter, the idea of considering the trilogy format seemed the most appropriate, where in “Origins, Rise and Decline” the heroic virtue is more emphasized, while in “The Eclipse” considerations in regard to this transition or “bridging” are stressed, and in “The New Hope” there are described in the most synthetic and brief way possible the specific conditions of our times which are characterized by means and systems that are embedded with the potential of disaggregating and denaturing the human capacity to attain states of freedom, sovereignty and dominion.

The objective of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy

The birth of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy is due to a large extent to the deep perception of the state of crisis that we our living in our times, and to the pressing need to delve into a profound diagnosis of this crisis, ultimately aiming to overcome it. And it is by challenging this issue that the purely synthetic spirit of the trilogy emerges as a fundamental response.
We tend to conceive, by inertia or comfort, that if today there exists a crisis, that such crisis is of an economic type, while others might still adduce that we live in times of political, moral, ethical or values crisis, etc. Yet at the end of the day all these partial crisis expressions are very much interconnected, and because of such connectivity not even the economic crisis can be solved unless actions take place upon the other domains… Therefore, we can already imagine here the highly systemic nature of our crisis… In the domain of nature all living beings tend towards self-organization and to acquire the so-called homeostatic states, which briefly means that amidst conditions of high chaos and energy dissipation all functions, organs and sub-systems become coordinated in order to serve a common purpose. And even though these phenomena take place in the domain of nature, in the case of civilization such homeostasis very seldom takes place, and it is precisely in the case of the technological, urban and industrial civilizations that we live in today where we will very rarely find individuals capable of answering the crucial question: What´s the purpose of such development?… For example, one way or another in the political domain such answer always goes together with the idea that development and economic growth serve individual material well-being and the attainment of individual freedoms, yet in such answer a considerable abdication is already manifest, since a finality, if it is an actual finality, cannot serve individualist purposes, but rather must serve something that can transcend individualism and allow the harmonic convergence of the virtues and attributes of the given members of a society.
From the former can be deduced that one of the main motives of the crisis we are living is directly related to the incapacity on the part of the institutions or States to define finalities that can go beyond the promotion of the individual and economic liberties of the individuals. And yet when facing this dilemma there necessarily arises a great question for the most awakened minds, since… If we thus consider the hypothesis that the nation states of our times or the institutions of our urban-industrial societies don´t define in effect authentic finalities: How can it be then that modern society is still so sophisticatedly organized despite all the many crises? The answer to this question shall constitute the most difficult to digest on the part of most of our contemporary citizens, and yet it shall however be the answer that shall allow seeing with renewed eyes the authentic state of affairs… In truth, the highly organized state existent within the modern urban/industrial domains necessarily requires the existence of a finality, yet what is dramatic here -or better said, tragic- is that the finality itself is unknown by the societies and individuals who follow such finality, no matter how much an individual needs to believe that he obeys criteria chosen by him or her. Ultimately, individualism itself is a necessary condition in order to serve this unknown finality, and upon which is intended in “The Solar Warrior” trilogy to shed light upon.
It is precisely in such situations where in effect finalities do exist, and yet at the same time the latter are unknown by men, when according to the most strict rigor the existence of the forces of darkness can be considered as real, since men, even propelled by anxious individualism, are still determined in the deepest recesses of their beings by such forces, even though being unaware of the forces themselves. As we formerly exposed, this unconscious obedience to given powers is linked to the profound unawareness of the human nature itself with regard to its most integral aspects. This integral knowledge encompasses as well the decisive power of all unconscious and subconscious factors which even the psychoanalytical schools of the last century didn´t manage to identify with regard to their powerful transcendence, and especially because they mainly dismissed the vertiginous rate of change that the environment and biosphere of the earth experienced during the last century. The fact of shedding light upon these dark unconscious and subconscious forces constitutes the necessary condition in order to dominate such forces and thus attain the star of human destiny and freedom. Otherwise, any discourse or talking about freedom can only become highly virtual.

And not only freedom, but also the ethical, political and moral domains of our times have also became highly virtual and abstract, due to the simple reason that they are powerless when it comes to challenging and gaining some practical relevance before the imperative of incessant development, which during the last decades has ultimately monopolized the action of men, and such criteria of development is what actually assigns the social value of the individual who exerts such actions. The reader will very likely gather thousands of examples of the latter on a daily basis… And nevertheless, even with this being quite obvious, there still remains unanswered the response to the great question: Which is the aim of this development?…
This question will never be capable of being answered by those who actively participate in such development, nor by all those who by means of propagating ideologies, spectacles, consumerisms and diversions still provide men with false and alienating justifications that in no case coherently answer the question. It can´t either be answered by the ensemble formed by the technicians, engineers, scientists or technocrats who in general, without them even being aware of it, are constituted into the human instruments who implement such development… This might be the most decisive question of our times, and thus it is also necessary to determine who is actually capable of attempting to answer it.
Whoever is capable of pointing out this question in the first place, and what´s more important, of finding the answer, necessarily has to correspond to a human type that nowadays is practically extinguished in our societies. It has to correspond to a human type capable of overcoming and integrating any mercantilist or technical view of life. Those who, in all time and place, managed to follow aims that transcended such domains were the warriors. We´re not referring here to soldiers or mercenaries… We´re talking about individuals who aligned with the forces of an Empire or State, and that, by means of their actions, incarnated such forces, which consolidated the power upon which later on the economic subsystems and the social configurations could materialize, like a portrait upon a canvas; and precisely the “portrait” constituted the finality that directed the actions of the warrior, by aligning with the spirit of the State or Empire.
Only warriors of this sort are capable of asking the question, not necessarily by means of intellectual constructions, but rather in their actions, their lives, their combat and their sacrifices. Yet nowadays, these warriors are conspicuous by their absence, ultimately due in the first place to the lack of States or institutions illuminated by principles of Honour and courage, and in the second place due to the progressive planetary predominance of States that have given in to the imperative of development without being capable in any case of shedding light upon the aim itself of such development. However, in our times the lack of light at the level of public institutions and corporations doesn´t mean that in other less visible domains which are more clandestine or enigmatic, the issue regarding the aims of the human condition in our age hadn't been however transmitted generation after generation since some centuries ago through a golden thread of teachings and contacts that have always been present, and that shall always be present, for whoever wants to open their eyes upon such transcendental questions. This “inner empire” corresponds to a force of a transcendent nature capable of shedding light upon the determining forces of absolutely any age, aiming to employ such forces as means that can assist when defining the degree of subjection of men to depersonalising and enslaving powers. And the action of employing such means of power existent in a given age, when aiming to liberate such light and not rather aiming to become further attached to means of an uncertain finality or purpose, corresponds to a heroic task that demands warrior natural conditions in whoever chooses himself for such endeavour. This is why the only individual capable of answering the issue of the ultimate finalities, thus shedding light upon the dark forces of a given age shall necessarily be the Solar Warrior, whose very life expresses such finality.
This entails that situations of crisis and conflict are always the food of the Solar Warrior. And this is not less true in our times. And what´s more, the heroic principles of the Solar Warrior are prone to becoming irreversibly degraded in situations of material well-being, while they rather powerfully emerge during those historic times characterised by dissolution, corruption and human barbarism in all their diverse forms.
This is why the main aim of “The Solar Warrior” trilogy is that of assisting the reader to deeply comprehend the actual existence of given determinisms -or laws if preferred- that nowadays burden his or her potential to act according to a direction that can allow the culmination of his or her maximum aspirations. These laws, in addition, are characterized by several levels that are expressed differently through the three essays of the trilogy. Hence, in the third book of the trilogy “A New Hope” such laws are expressed based in their most materialistic and empiric character and in this book is emphasized as well the importance of the conditioning of the psycho-physiological human reactions by regular exposure to a cybernetic, functional and virtual world that nowadays constitutes our main conditions of existence. By embracing this crucial approach to the domain of the direct and effective forms of experience of our times, in the second book of the trilogy: “The Eclipse” is attempted a more decisive approach to worldviews, ideologies and superstructures that we´ve assimilated for years and that allow the psychological and religious (in the Latin sense of re-ligare, to link a collective in a given direction…) behaviour of the individual towards a finality that not necessarily is that which promotes his true freedom and power in relation to all means. Some might consider that this second book is more focused in the “soul” or “psyche”, while the third is more focused in the “body” and experience, and I even believe this view is of great coherence. And in the third place we have the first book of the trilogy, “Origins, Rise, and Decline” where we rather penetrate in a more metaphysical domain, a domain that it is good to recall on the part of modern science has been considered as a “subjective residue”. And yet in “Origins, Rise & Decline” by means of deep introspection in the meanings of myth, such legendary domain shall precisely aid in a very crucial way in order to comprehend the global meaning and the aim of the whole of the content, not only in the case of the development of the three books of the trilogy, but also by considering that the reader shall eventually perceive analogous developments in his/her own life.
It is in this regard that the collection is revolutionary, since the return to the origins is accomplished in order to recover a meaning that can no longer serve as mere nostalgia or romanticism, but rather serve in order to build a sense here and now, upon the actual physical and material foundations existent in the 21st century. Obviously we are referring here to lay the foundations of a gigantic project that shall require a superhuman effort.
